Keeping the memories made each day
Keeping them safe and stored away
Keeping you close, keeping you near
Keeping hidden the tears and the fear

Hoping that you won’t break my heart
Hoping this disease won’t tear us apart
Hoping against hope that you will survive
Hoping my hopes will keep you alive

Letting you grow up like any child
Letting you be reckless, carefree and wild
Letting you learn and letting you know
